If you’re planning to get a COVID test or vaccine through the Sedgwick County Health Department, double check that you’re headed to the right place.
Virus testing is now being done at the Sedgwick County Park Sunflower Shelter, close to the 13th Street entrance. This is the same walk-up testing that was being offered at the 4-H building, just with a change of venue. Testing is still offered to everyone regardless of symptoms.
COVID vaccinations will continue at the 4-H building this week, at 21st and Ridge, but this site will no longer be used as of Saturday, March 27. The main vaccination site will then be the old library location at 223 South Main in Wichita. You do need to make an appointment to get vaccinated through the county. That can be done at the following link. www.sedgwickcounty.org/covid-19/vaccine/schedule/
People with medical conditions making it unsafe to use a large vaccination facility can call (316) 660-1029 to make an appointment for a drive-through vaccination.
