GraceMed Health Clinic has been selected by the CDC and the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to receive direct supplies of COVID-19 vaccine.
GraceMed was selected because its non-profit, clinical network already serves a patient base which includes public housing residents, the homeless, seasonal and migratory agriculture workers, seniors aged 65 and older, and people with limited English capability.
Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas was the only other health center in the state that was selected to receive vaccine supplies.
One million doses of the Moderna vaccine will be allocated to the 250 health centers that were selected in total. GraceMed will follow state priorities and guidelines as far as as who is eligible for vaccination. Vaccine recipients will not be restricted by their county of residence, nor are they required to be GraceMed patients.
For more information on which populations are currently eligible to receive a vaccination, visit www.kansasvaccine.gov.
Vaccinations will be given with no out of pocket cost to patients at GracMed’s Helen Galloway Clinic (1122 N. Topeka in Wichita). Appointments can be made by calling (316) 866-2000.
