Police have a 22-year-old man in custody for a fatal shooting that happened on New Year’s Day at a north Wichita home.
The man was arrested for the January 1st shooting death of 26-year-old Nicholas Sims. Officers found Sims at a home in the 2600 block of North Bullinger, and detectives found that he had been shot during an argument that broke out at a party. The argument moved outside the home, and then the shooting took place. At least 50 people were attending the party at the time.
Information will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for the filing of charges.
