Wichita announced there will be no Neighborhood Night Out event in 2020.
This usually happens in August, but city leaders were looking at pushing the event back to October because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, the event has been called of entirely. An announcement from the city Thursday morning says this is believed the be the safest course of action.
Neighborhood Night Out events take the form of block parties, as a way for neighbors to get to know each other and their local police officers.
