The Kansas Department of Corrections said a resident has tested positive for COVID-19 at the Norton Correctional Facility’s Stockton Satellite Facility.
This is the eighth correctional facility in the state that has had a confirmed case. The resident at NCF is a man over the age of 30. No other information has been released.
A mandatory mask protocol for staff and residents was implemented on July 3rd. The East Unit of the facility, with 96 men, will quarantine in place for at least 14 days, and there will be testing of the entire living unit and staff.
The East Unit houses minimum security residents, and it opened in Stockton in 1988.
