The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission has announced that the 86th annual National Baseball Congress World Series will be held in August at two locations.

The games will be played from August 3rd through the 10th at Wichita State University’s Eck Stadium and at Hutchinson Community College’s Hobart-Detter Field.

Fans will be asked to take precautions to protect against the coronavirus, and they will be required to wear masks and use hand sanitizer.   They are also urged to follow social distancing practices in the stadiums.  Organizers say there will be a strong emphasis on fan safety during the games.

The Sports Commission has consolidated with the NBC Baseball Foundation, so the NBC World Series will be an official event of the Sports Commission.    President and CEO Bob Hanson said having two locations will allow for a safe and healthy environment for the fans, teams, staff and the community.

The NBC World Series was created in 1935 by local sporting goods salesman Raymond “Hap” Dumont.
