The latest figures from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment show there are now 7,468 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Kansas.
164 people have died in the state since the outbreak first began. In Sedgwick County there are 507 cases cases with 316 recoveries. The county is reporting 20 deaths. The county’s number jumped more than 30 from Tuesday’s report, and county officials said that is because of cases from the Wichita Work Release Facility, which is one of the clusters of COVID-19 activity reported in the countyu.
Reno County currently has 51 cases, Harvey 11, Butler 19, Cowley 3, Sumner 5, and Harper 1. Kingman County has no reported cases.
Ford County has surpassed all other counties in the state with 1,232 confirmed cases. Wyandotte County has 1,107.
Finney County is reporting 1,007 cases and Seward has 732. Leavenworth is at 952 cases, while Johnson County is reporting 618.
Lyon County is at 336 cases. Shawnee is the only other Kansas County with over 100 cases, with 178 confirmed cases of Covid-19.
The increase in cases is due to the state’s expanded testing and does not represent new infections.
