Harvey County says a woman in her 30’s who died of Leukemia at an out of county hospital has tested positive for Covid-19.
She had tested positive for the virus several days before her death, but official say the Leukemia was the direct cause of it, not the virus. Testing was conducted by a private lab and confirmed by the state.
“We are again saddened by the loss of another community member, though this time not related to COVID-19. Our thoughts are with this Harvey County resident’s friends and family,” said Harvey County Health Department Director Lynnette Redington in a news release.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is working to contact those who had been in close contact with the woman.
