Sumner County is reporting its first Covid-19 related death.
The patient was a man in his 60’s who was being treated at a Wichita hospital. He had been hospitalized since March 26.
There is no word if he had any underlying health conditions. The man was reported to have lived in the northern portion of the county.
“Our deepest condolences go to the family. We are very saddened by the news. His passing is a sad reminder of how serious this pandemic is. And also how we must all work together to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Sumner County.
Sumner County has at least one other confirmed case of Covid-19. The patient is a woman in her 50’s who self-quarantined at home.
