Wichita police are investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman, and a 42-year-old man has been arrested.
Officers were called to a shooting report around 12:30 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 7700 block of East 32nd Street North. Officers found Deniq Ingram with a gunshot wound and she was taken to a hospital in very critical condition. She later died of her injuries.
Police said the suspect was on the scene and he was taken into custody. He was booked into jail for second degree murder. Police are still looking into the circumstances of the shooting, and information will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for the filing of charges.
