Wichita police said mounted officers and Sumner County sheriff’s deputies caught up with a shoplifter after an incident Monday in northeast Wichita.
The WPD Mounted Unit was watching for shoplifters along Greenwich Road when they were notified about an incident at a Cabela’s store near K-96 and Greenwich. They gathered information and tracked down a suspect and a vehicle in the area. They recovered around $1,600 in merchandise.
The suspect was booked into jail on misdemeanor theft charges.
