A Wichita law firm said Monday it has filed a third lawsuit in connection with sexual assaults on three patients at a Wichita hospital in June.

The Hutton & Hutton Law Firm said the lawsuit was filed on behalf of a 47-year-old woman, identified only as T.R.W.  She was recovering from a traumatic brain injury resulting from a motor vehicle accident.    She was the third of three patients who were sexually assaulted by a man who got into Ascension Via Christi St. Francis hospital by following an employee through an entrance on June 15th.

Charges of rape and attempted rape have been filed against 28-year-old Miguel Rodela.  He is accused of assaulting a patient on the 8th floor, then assaulting a second patient on the 7th floor, and then going into the third victim’s room on the 6th floor.

A press release from Hutton & Hutton claims that no one from Ascension ever spoke to the third victim’s family after the incident to inform them what happened.

The firm has filed three lawsuits against Ascension Via Christi Hospitals Wichita Inc. on behalf of the three victims.
