Officials were looking for a grizzly bear that attacked and killed a woman from Derby, Kansas on a trail near Yellowstone National Park.

The body of 47-year-old Amie Adamson was found Saturday morning on the Buttermilk Trail,  west of West Yellowstone and a few hundred yards from a trailhead and a private campground.   Investigators confirmed grizzly bear tracks at the scene.

Family members told ABC News that Amie had quit her job as an English teacher eight years ago to backpack around the U.S. and write a book about her experience.  She had been working in Yellowstone for the summer.

Citing human safety, the Custer Gallatin National Forest issued an emergency closure of the Buttermilk area. An investigation is ongoing.
