The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday that no charges will be filed against a Missouri man in connection with a shooting that left 11 people injured at a club in the Old Town district of Wichita.
The District Attorney’s Office released a statement on the investigation into the July 2nd incident at City Nightz in the 200 block of North Washington. Investigators found new information and looked at video surveillance from inside the club, and they determined that a 31-year-old man from Flourissant, Missouri appeared to have fired a weapon in response to shots fired by two different gunmen in the club. The man appeared to be acting in self-defense and defense of a third party.
The investigation into the shooting is continuing and police have been working to identify suspects in the shooting. The incident left seven men and two women with gunshot wounds and two people who were trampled when patrons tried to run out of the club to escape the gunfire.
