A man who was convicted of murder in Sedgwick County was found dead in his prison cell Wednesday morning.
Corrections officials said 41-year-old Binh Ly was serving a sentence for one count of murder and one count of aggravated burglary. He was convicted of a murder that happened in May of 2001, when he was 18 years old. He was convicted in the gang-related shooting death of 20-year-old Chanh Chantivong at a Wichita home.
Corrections officials said Ly’s death is under investigation, and an autopsy has been ordered.
