Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach has started a public awareness campaign on the dangers of fentanyl.
In a public service announcement being sent to Kansas television stations, Kobach is telling people not to take any pill that they didn’t receive from a doctor or pharmacist.
More than 1,200 Kansans have died from suspected fentanyl overdoses, and the problem continues to get worse. Lawrence police were called to three fentanyl overdoses in one night last week, One person died and the others were hospitalized.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is redirecting some resources to combat fentanyl overdoses.
