A Wichita woman has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in the Old Town district.
During a court appearance Wednesday, 19-year-old La’Niha Banks was charged with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, two counts of criminal discharge of a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $500,000 and attorneys are scheduled to discuss the case on June 22nd.
The shooting was reported May 20th in a parking lot near 1st and Washington. Police said the victim broke up a fight and was leaving in her car when shots were fired. 19-year-old Lationna Johnson was injured and she died later in a hospital.
