Wichita police have arrested a Valley Center man on a charge of felony racing.  The arrest was the result of an investigation under a program that police call the Stunt Rider Project.    The man who was arrested is already facing charges in the death of a pedestrian earlier this year.

Police said an officer witnessed a motorcycle riding west on Waterman in the downtown area on May 27th, and the rider was doing a wheelie.   Officers followed him to a parking garage and he was taken into custody.

The rider, identified as 21-year-old Chase Faimon, has been charged with second degree murder for an incident in February where a woman was hit by a motorcycle.  The woman died after that incident at 11th and Broadway.  Police said at the time that the motorcycle was doing a wheelie when it struck the woman.

Police impounded Faimon’s motorcycle after his arrest in May.

Police said the Stunt Rider Project has resulted in 18 arrests for stunt driving and other offenses, and 17 vehicles have been impounded.  Officers also recovered two guns during the project.
