A 17-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night, near Rock and 39th South.
Family members of the teen found the wrecked car in a wooded area off the side of the road and called 911. This was around 11:40 p.m. 17-year-old Julio Alsidez was pronounced dead at the scene. He had just graduated from Derby High School.
Sedgwick County deputies said Alsidez was driving north on Rock Road and his car went off the roadway and hit a row of trees. Deputies are still looking into the cause of the crash.
