Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has announced that a North Carolina firm will be constructing an $80 million manufacturing facility in Maize, and it’s expected to create 50 full-time jobs.

Charlotte Pipe and Foundry has six plastics plants in the United States.  The company makes cast iron and plastic pipe and fittings.   Construction on the Maize facility is expected to begin in January, 2024 and it will be completed by early 2025.    The 134,000 square-foot plant will have access to a Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad line.

Governor Kelly said Charlotte Pipe brings a strong, family-oriented culture with good-paying jobs and benefits to central Kansas.   Charlotte Pipe CEO Hooper Hardison said in a press release that Maize is ideally located in the center of the country and that will help the company to better serve its customers.
