A man was arrested at the U.S. Mexico border in connection to a rape in that happened in Sedgwick County in 2007
Roman Vela was arrested on an active Sedgwick County warrant is currently being held in Webb County, Texas, awaiting extradition to Kansas. He was arrested at a border crossing between Mexico and Texas.
The arrest was the culmination of an ongoing effort between the Department of State in Mexico; Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) Mexico; HSI Kansas City, Mo., and the
Sedgwick County DA’s Office in Wichita.
No further details were released.
