A man from southwest Kansas has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in a southwest Wichita neighborhood.
Police said a 34-year-old man from Johnson City was arrested Thursday by Stanton County sheriff’s deputies for an unrelated warrant. He was booked Friday into the Sedgwick County jail on a charge of first degree murder.
Police said the investigation found that the suspect drove to Wichita on April24th, saw 44-year-old Shawn Lahman at a location in the 1300 block of South Edwards, and then shot him. Lahman was later found dead in the front seat of a passenger van. Detectives learned that the suspect then fled to Stanton County and they alerted officials there to be on the lookout for him.
Police said Lahman and the suspect knew each other and they had an ongoing dispute.
