Severe thunderstorms moved across south central and eastern parts of Kansas late Wednesday, bringing hail up to the size of baseballs and sightings of funnel clouds and tornadoes.
Damage assessment is underway in Marion and Chase counties after a storm moved through late in the afternoon. There were reports of at least three tornadoes near Strong City, and there were reports of downed tree limbs and power outages.
Tennis ball sized hail was reported near Florence, in Marion County. Baseball sized hail was reported near Elmdale and Strong City in Chase County and there was damage reported to homes and outbuildings. No injuries have been reported.
Storms continued into the night with severe thunderstorm warnings for Butler, Greenwood, Chase and Marion Counties, and more severe weather was reported in north central Kansas.
