A man wanted for a homicide in Texas has been charged in connection with a chase in west Wichita that led to his capture.

Charges were filed in Sedgwick County against 27-year-old Derek Daigneault.  He is charged with three counts of attempting to flee or elude law enforcement officers, aggravated battery, criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of THC.   He is also charged with violating the offender registration act.

Daigneault’s bond was set at $100.,000 and his next court appearance is scheduled for April 27th.   This case is separate from the one he is facing in Texas.

Daigneault was arrested on April 8th after a chase that ended at 13th and Tyler.   Wichita police were notified by officials in Robinson, Texas that he might be in the Wichita area and a license plate reading system picked up his car.  That led to a chase that ended at a Dillon’s store where he was taken into custody.   Several cars were hit during the chase but no serious injuries were reported.
