Sedgwick County is warning residents to watch out for a new tax scam that has been reported.
In posts on social media, the county said some residents are receiving a letter from a “Tax Processing Unit” in the county that makes a final demand for tax payments owed to the state of Kansas.
The county said these letters are not legitimate for state tax debts and they are not being sent by the State of Kansas. Anyone who receives a letter like this should report it to local law enforcement.
