A police SWAT team was set up in a south Wichita neighborhood after an assault suspect locked himself inside a home and refused to come out.
Police were called to the 900 block of South Topeka around 1 a.m. Monday to check on a man in his 50s who was accused of assaulting a woman inside a home. The 28-year-old woman left the home but the man remained inside.
Police were negotiating with the man throughout the day and he was taken into custody around 3 p.m.
