18-Year-Old Critically Injured in N. Wichita Shooting

Wichita Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on charges of aggravated battery stemming from a shooting incident that critically injured an 18-year-old man in northeast Wichita Friday night.

There were reports of a heavy police and emergency crew presence around 10:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of North Dellrose. Authorities said they arrived to find the 18-year-old with several gunshot wounds to his upper body. Crews began life-saving measures and transported the teen to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

Investigators learned that the 18-year-old and the 16-year-old were involved in a disturbance outside the residence when the 16-year-old shot the 18-year-old multiple times.

The 16-year-old was located and arrested around 3:00 am in the 1300 block of East Kemper.
