Wichita police officers have taken a murder suspect into custody at an apartment complex near Harry and Edgemoor. The man was the second suspect wanted for the recent disappearance and murder of a Wichita man.
The wanted man is 31-year-old Saul Valenciana. He was arrested after a standoff at an apartment near Harry and Parkwood.
Police received a tip from Crime Stoppers on Valenciana early Thursday afternoon, and they began chasing a car that crashed into a utility pole at Harry and Pinecrest. The driver ran from the car and police searched the neighborhood for him. The driver turned out to be a 35-year-old Wichita man who was arrested for traffic charges and a state parole warrant. Officers then received more information that led to the apartment on Parkwood.
Valenciana is wanted for the murder of 41-year-old Brent Boone of Wichita. Boone was reported missing on November 29th, and his body was later found in Sumner County. Police arrested 19-year-old Tehya Turner of Haysville, and she has been charged with first degree murder.
Police had information that Boone left in a car with Valenciana and Turner when he was last seen on November 24th.
