Emergency crews were on the scene of a crash in Russell County involving a semitruck and a train.
Officials with the Kansas Highway Patrol said the incident happened at the intersection of Old Highway 40 and 181st St. around 3:20 p.m. The semi reportedly failed to yield to the train at the intersection. The semi was hauling gas and diesel.
The train then hit the semi, causing the tanker to flip on its side and catch fire. The driver of the rig is expected to be okay.
Authorities had the roads in the area shut down while crews worked to put out the fire.
