The city of Belle Plaine says water service was restored around 5 a.m. today.

After a water main broke yesterday, service was shut off so repairs could be made. Because there was a broken line, resident are asked to be prepared to boil their tap water until tests confirm there is no contamination.

So far, an official boil water advisory has not been issued.
