Cowley County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal shooting that happened at a home west of Arkansas City.
Sheriff David Falletti said in a news release that deputies were called to a home early Tuesday in the 3000 block of 302nd Road, when someone reported finding blood in the front yard. They learned that three men had been at the house earlier. A car belonging to one of the men was later found at a home in Winfield, and then a pickup was found in the 10,000 block of 11th road in the western part of the county. A man and woman were found in the truck and deputies saw what appeared to be blood in the back of the truck.
Deputies got a search warrant and then found the body of 34-year-old Matthew Kelly in the bed of the truck, covered with tarps.
Two men and two women have been arrested and the investigation is continuing.
