Zuza, 30-year-old western lowland gorilla and popular feature within the Sedgwick County zoo, passed away on October 7th.
The gorilla was found unresponsive in his enclosure by zookeepers, and several attempts to revive him were not successful.
He was born on September 16th, 1991 at Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo, and later came to the Sedgwick County Zoo in 2010.
A favorite of both guests and staff, Zuza was often called “Zuza the Entertainer” for his charismatic and playful personality.
