A Wichita man has been sentenced to more than 18 years in prison for a 2022 shooting incident that left two people dead and two others injured.
A Sedgwick County district judge handed down a 221-month sentence for 40-year-old Kenneth Jackson III, who had pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.
Jackson and another man were arrested for a shooting in December, 2022 near Lincoln and Woodlawn. The shooting resulted in the deaths of 39-year-old Jose Alvarez and 22-year-old Neosha Allen. Two other men were injured.
Police said the shooting involved a dispute over a debt of around $50.
Another suspect in the case, 22-year-old Donovan Crandall, is facing drug and firearms charges, and he’s scheduled for a hearing Thursday in connection with the shooting.
