The Kansas Highway Patrol said a driver was killed early Saturday when his pickup collided with a train in Harper County.

The crash was reported around 7 a.m. on NE 80th Avenue just north of the community of Danville.  The Patrol said a crossing arm was down at a railroad crossing, but an eastbound pickup went through it and struck the train.  The pickup then went into a ditch and overturned.

The driver, 81-year-old James Robb of Danville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
