Wichita police identify 53-year-old Phylicia Carter as the woman who died after being hit by a vehicle Monday evening.
The incident happened around 7:00 p.m. in the 4400 block of N. Meridian. Carter was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
Police said a vehicle was headed south on Meridian and hit Carter while she was walking her bicycle on the traffic way. Police said all parties involved have been interviewed by investigators.
Neither speed nor impairment are believed to be factors in the accident. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Detectives at 316-350- 3686.
This is the 18th fatality collision of the year.
