An Australian aerospace company has chosen the Wichita region as the site for its first engineering and manufacturing facility in the United States.
Quickstep is Australia’s largest independent aerospace composite manufacturer, and it is recognized as a global leader in the manufacture of drones, missiles and commercial and military aircraft. The company looked at more than 20 locations across the U.S. during an eight-month search process.
Greater Wichita Partnership president Jeff Fluhr said in a press release that Quickstep’s presence in the Wichita region’s aviation community will create opportunities for economic growth and innovation.
There’s no word on the location of Quickstep’s Kansas facility, but it’s expected to begin operations in 2024. The company said it will work with the Greater Wichita Partnership over the next three months on facility development and investment.
