Authorities in Butler County arrested two 18-year-olds Wednesday after the delivery of a package suspected of containing roughly 20,000 counterfeit pills believed to laced with fentanyl.
Officials with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office said that around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, a package containing the pills was delivered in the 800 block of N. Taylor in El Dorado. A vehicle arrived at the residence soon after and a person picked up the package. The individuals in the vehicle fled after deputies attempted to stop them.
Someone inside the vehicle threw out the package during the pursuit, which soon ended at Westbound K-96 at Hillside after the suspects’ vehicle car became disabled after driving over a concrete median. The female driver and the male passenger, both from Wichita, were booked into the Butler County Detention Facility multiple charges.
