The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said a three-month operation led to the arrests of 18 registered sex offenders.
From April through June, the Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service made compliance checks on 1,015 registered sex offenders in Sedgwick County. They found 31 offenders who were not in compliance with registration requirements, and 18 were arrested for violations of the Offender Registration Act.
The operation used over 350 man-hours of Sheriff’s Office personnel, and it was conducted during regular duty hours as well as after hours.
