Most of eastern Kansas is under a heat advisory today, from 1pm to 9pm.
Sedgwick County is not included, though Butler, Sumner and Cowley Counties are. Higher humidity will lead to heat index number up to 105 in some places today.
Heat index numbers may be slightly lower in some areas on Thursday, though triple digits are still expected.
Anyone who must work outside is urged to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks to avoid heatstroke.
Temperatures are forecast to drop into the high 90’s Friday, and into the high 80’s over the weekend.
