The Transportation Department at Derby Public Schools is sponsoring two “Try-it-Out” days for persons interested in experiencing driving a bus. The district is currently seeking to fill bus driver positions prior to the start of the 2023-2024 school year.
The event aims to provide hands-on exposure to help decide if driving a bus could be the right job for you. Bus driver trainers will be on-site to speak with those interested in learning more about what driving a bus entails and will ride with the person while the bus is being operated.
A Commercial Driver’s License is not required to attend or apply. Derby Public Schools’ Transportation Dept. will assist with obtaining a CDL.
“Try-it-Out” Days will be at Panther Stadium, located at 925 E. Madison Ave. in Derby on Tuesday, June 27th and Thursday, June 29th from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both days.
