A hearing in the fatal Towne East Mall shooting case has been delayed.

17-year-old Te’bryis Robinson, of Wichita, is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of 14-year-old Trenjavious Hutton. Hutton was shot at the mall during a fight on March 18, 2022.

The case against Robinson was originally going through Juvenile District Court, but the District Attorney’s Office was granted a motion for adult prosecution earlier this year. Robinson had made an appearance in adult court on March 28.

Because of an issue with records, it’s been requested that the case be returned to the Juvenile
District Court. The adult case has since been dismissed without prejudice, so it can be refiled. Robinson has since been moved back to juvenile detention.

The DA’s Office plans to renew its motion for adult prosecution.
