The Kansas Highway Patrol and fire crews were called to two separate incidents in Kingman County involving semi-tractor trailers that crashed. Both incidents were reported early Thursday afternoon.
One incident was reported on Kansas Highway 2 near Norwich. A semi caught fire and there were explosions. The semi was empty and there were no injuries.
The other incident involved an overturned semi on Kansas Highway 14 south of Kingman. A hazardous material unit was sent to that location because the semi was carrying ethanol. K-14 was closed between SE 40th Street and SW 70th Street. The driver of the semi was taken to a hospital but there was no word on the extent of his injuries.
