Several propane tanks exploded at a rural Barton County location near Great Bend, and the resulting fire destroyed a metal building.
Crews were called to a location on SE 30 Road around 3:45 Monday afternoon, and they found a metal building fully involved in flames with several propane tanks exploding and several more that were exposed to the flames.
Tankers were called from Great Bend and from the Ellinwood Fire Department.
The building and contents were a total loss. No injuries were reported, and Great Bend fire investigators determined that the cause was accidental.
