The 22nd Air Refueling Wing will host a change of command ceremony on Friday, June 9th.

Col. Nate Vogel will relinquish command of the 22nd ARW to Col. Cory Damon.

Vogel leaves the 22nd ARW after two years of leading one of the world’s largest tanker wings, and conducting operations worldwide with the KC-46 Pegasus and KC-135 Stratotanker. During his command, Team McConnell advanced the operational capability and knowledge base of the KC-46, resulting in the KC-46 being approved for worldwide deployment.

After Friday’s change of command ceremony, Vogel moves on to a position at The Pentagon, while Damon assumes command of the 22nd ARW.

Damon comes to McConnell from MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, where he served as vice commander of the 6th Air Refueling Wing. At McConnell, Damon will inherit the 22nd ARW mission and oversee 3,500 active duty Airmen.

He comes to McConnell as a Command Pilot with more than 4,200 flying hours, primarily in KC-135s and C-5s.

Maj. Gen. Corey Martin, 18th Air Force commander, will be the presiding officer for the ceremony.
