Two more people have filed to run for the Wichita mayor’s office, bringing the total number of candidates to eight so far.
City Council member Bryan Frye and former Council member Jared Cerullo are the latest candidates to file with the Sedgwick County Election Office.
There are six other candidates on the ballot. Incumbent mayor Brandon Whipple has not filed at this time, but he said on social media Wednesday that he will run for a second term.
Seven candidates have filed for the three open seats on the Wichita City Council in districts 2, 4 and 5.
The deadline to file for city and school district races and other elected offices will be June 1st. The primary election is August 1st.
