Police arrested three people after vandalism left at least $10,000 in damage to a museum display in Wichita’s Old Town.

The vandalism was reported early Saturday at the Great Plains Transportation Museum, and the three suspects were seen by the operator of a camera system that was installed at the museum last year.

In a press release, the museum said there was damage to a locomotive, passenger car, two cabooses and a converted passenger car used as a repair and fabrication shop.  A window in the museum building was smashed.

Museum president John Deck called the vandalism “sickening” and he said in the press release that repairs will be made but that work could take several months.
