The Wichita Police Department moved the location of its Second Chance Thursday event.
The event was originally at the Minisa Community Center at 704 W. 13th, but has been moved to Hyde Park Community Center at 201 S. Greenwood from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. due to a moth problem at the original location. Experts say the army cutworm moths could be around for awhile, but will either die off or migrate west to Colorado before returning again in the fall.
Second Chance Thursday allows Wichita residents with traffic warrants to receive a new court date. City court employees will be on hand for those who want to pay their fines, and the DMV will be available for help Driver’s License issues or questions. The event does not assist with Sedgwick County warrants or DUIs.
