The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said three deputies have resigned after an investigation found that they were having sexual relations with a records employee, sometimes while on duty.
Sheriff Jeff Easter said the deputies then lied during the investigation, and that would be a reason for them to be fired, so the deputies chose to resign. A records clerk also resigned after the investigation. Three other deputies were investigated, and it was learned that two of them had sexual relations with the records clerk.
Five of the deputies worked the third shift, which runs from 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. The deputies who resigned were on patrol for about two years and the records clerk had been with the Sheriff’s Office for less than a year.
