The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office is warning property seizure scam letter that may be circulating in the Wichita area.

A Wichita resident recently received a Notice of Warrant claiming to be issued by the “County of Sedgwick Office of Levys (sic) and Liens.” The document also claims to be sent by “Tax Assessment Securities.”

This scam alleges that the person who received the letter could lose their property in a foreclosure action, falsely proclaiming “Property Seizure is Imminent.”

The D.A.’s Office is warning anyone else who may receive a notice such as this to not call any phone numbers listed in the letter.

If you have received a similar notice in the mail, you’re asked to notify the District Attorney’s Office by sending the email to consumer@sedgwick.gov.
