A former Kansas corrections officer has been sentenced to life in prison for the death of his three-month old son two years ago.
A judge in Butler County gave the life sentence to 24-year-old Kaleb Hogan, with parole eligibility after 25 years. Hogan, a former employee of the El Dorado Correctional Facility, was convicted in January of child abuse and first degree murder.
Three-month-old Malykai Hogan was found unresponsive at a home in August in March, 2021. He died three days later at a Wichita hospital.
